My name is Andrea Kang: passionate food lover and a Northwestern University student.
This blog exists because I love to cook. To me, there is nothing better than an excellent homemade meal that makes you want nothing but to devour the food on your plate. There’s only one problem. I’ve developed a case of cooking schizophrenia. Sometimes I’m in the zone, making homemade tomato sauce for a pasta dish while tossing a salad on the side, all with a cake baking in the oven. Other times, I just settle for carrot sticks. Yes, carrot sticks. So how does one go from cooking a full 3-course meal to eating bland, uncooked vegetables? Such is the condition that accompanies two years of college dorm life. These days, I find myself struggling to muster any desire to dish out $20 bucks at A&P for ingredients. Let alone, think about cooking.
All in all…I’m broke; I’m lazy; I need to pick up my energy again. Hence arrives Sunny Side-Up Kitchen, my one-way motivational ticket to once again becoming a prolific cook and food lover-extraordinaire.
My current mission in the kitchen is making good meals out of whatever I have, whenever I have time. Because ultimately, food goes beyond just getting fed; it’s about satisfying your appetite with something delicious.
This blog is all about my adventures in cooking and living my mission. I hope you enjoy!
